Kathryn Ann Smoker Carty Bays, 55, of Rosedale, Ind., and formerly of Leesburg, Ind., passed away Friday, June 14, 2013.

She was born Aug. 9, 1957, in Leesburg to Robert and Helen Smoker. She was a Warsaw High School graduate and attended technical college. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. Kathryn was a member of the knitting club and worked as an adjuster for State Farm Insurance with more than 30 years of service.

Survivors include her parents: Robert and Helen Smoker, Leesburg; two daughters: Sarah Carty and Hannah Carty, both of Rosedale, Ind.; two brothers: David Smoker and Brian Smoker, both of Leesburg; one granddaughter: Chloe Keller; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Rosedale Fire Department with a carry-in dinner.
