Virgil D. Enders 93, formerly a resident of Bourbon, Ind., passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Ind.
Virgil was born Jan. 20, 1920, at Wyatt, Ind., to Samuel and Bertha Schweisberger Enders. He married Dorothy Vollmer on Dec. 23, 1944, at Bremen, Ind., in the Lutheran Parsonage with Rev. E.G. Dobelstein officiating, she survives.
Retiring from the work force in 1981 as a Finishing Machine operator at Bremen Bearings (Universal Bearings), he continued farming. He enjoyed farming and caring for animals. He attended Madison Township School and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Bremen.
Vigil is survived by his wife of over 68 years along with their daughter: Linda (Tom) Heisler, Bourbon, Ind.; their two sons: Loren (Debbie) Enders, Brownsburg, Ind.; and Gary and (Cheryl) Enders, Logansport, Ind.; nine grandchildren: Troy (Brenda) Heisler, Kim (Jeff) Wanemacher, Jerrod (Lovisa) Enders, Angela (Chris) Deatline, Jason (Sarah) Enders, Kevin Enders, Lindsay (Preston) Triplett, Brian Enders and Daniel Enders along with 10 great-grandchildren.
Proceeding in death were his parents, two sisters; Martha Ogle and Mabel Hesch.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon. A celebration of Virgil’s life will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen, Ind., with Rev. Roger Rohde and Rev. Neil Wonnacott officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery at Bremen.
