WARSAW – Warsaw Community High School senior two-sport athlete Shay Hepler signed a letter of intent to attend Ancilla College and play baseball in the fall.

Hepler,  who has roamed centerfield and provided a steady stick from the left side of the plate for the Tigers and coach Mike Hepler, was one of three Tiger baseball players to announce intentions to play at Ancilla for coach Joe Yonto.

The multi-sport athlete, Hepler also lettered in football and his play in the defensive backfield helped the Tigers to an outstanding season on the gridiron.  A two-year letterman in baseball (having played both football and baseball all four years) he played in the Tiger basketball program for two seasons.

Off the field, Hepler made efforts to assist those in the school and community.  He played a tremendous role with the WCHS Tiger Student Athletic Board during his senior year, and he was a member of both Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as Youth Group.

Hepler, who intends to major in Exercise Science at Ancilla, was among the team leaders in RBI with 14 runs driven in, and he led the Tigers in stolen bases with six.
