
Penny Lee (Barnhart) Wideman, 66, Warsaw, died Saturday, July 4, 2020, in her home.
She was born July 1, 1954, to Geraldine (Hackworth) and Ben Barnhart, Warsaw. A lifelong Kosciusko county resident, she met and married James “Jim” “Whitey” Wideman on Nov. 22, 1975, at the Warsaw Church of God, they remained married until her death. Together they had one daughter, Samantha (Andy) Crisp and two grandsons, Cooper, (16) and Van (9) Crisp, Mishawaka.
She was a member of Mentone United Methodist Church and Psi Iota Xi National Women’s Philanthropic Organization. She spent her life working as an administrative professional for Kralis Brothers Foods, Stonehenge Country Club, and Zimmer Inc. She ended her career as the owner of Avis/Budget Rental Cars in Warsaw when she retired in 2016.
After retirement Penny spent her time enjoying life with her husband at their home on Goose Lake. She delighted in watching her grandsons play baseball, basketball, and football, while spoiling them immensely.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Wideman, Warsaw; her brother Tim Barnhart; Stockbridge, Ga.; nephews Jason Barnhart, Pacific, Mo.; and Jeremy Barnhart, Topeka, Kan. She will be remembered and missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
A calling will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A memorial service will be held immediately after the viewing starting at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
