Julia Ann Newsome, 75, of Rochester, Ind., passed away at 4 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Langley, Ky., to Elzie and Opal (Adkins) Bentley. On Aug. 23, 1958, in Langley, Ky., she was married to Clifford Newsome Sr. He preceded her in death.
She had worked for Chamberlain Products of Akron and Provimi Veal of Tippecanoe as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Little Alivie Church of North Judson, Ind. She loved quilting and baking.
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth Dale (Kelly) Newsome, Warsaw, Ind.; Cliff Jr. (Lesa) Newsome, Mentone, Ind.; Phill (Tammy) Newsome, Mentone; grandchildren: Joshua Wade Newsome; Michele Lynn Newsome; Ramsel Trenton Allen Newsome; Laura Beth Tessmer; great-grandchildren: Marlynn and Elliott Ramsel; sisters: Lillian Gregory, Paintsville, Ky.; Elizabeth (Delbert) Stephens, Langley; Margaret Kirkland, Saint Cloud, Fla.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, with a church service being held at 5 p.m. all at King Memorial Home 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home. Preachers of the Little Alivie Church will officiate. Burial will be held in Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone.
