Lois A. Sheets, 71, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Peabody Home, North Manchester, Ind., where she had been a resident since October 2012.

She was born April 11, 1942, in Sullivan County, Ind. to Cisco R. and Jeanette I. (White) May. Her formative years were spent in Sullivan County. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1960. On June 10, 1961, she was united in marriage to Paul V. Sheets. They made their home in Larwill for a short time before moving to Columbia City.

She was employed at R.R. Donnelley and Dalite Screens in Warsaw, Ind., Alcoils, Chamberlin Products, Precision Plastics and Fibre Form. Her memberships included Eagles #1906 Auxiliary and American Legion Post #98 Auxiliary.

She is survived by three children: Michael (Charlene) Sheets, Columbia City; Theresa Tucker, Columbia City; Robert (Theresa) Sheets, Kimmell, Ind.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Linda Carter, Columbia City; Bonnie Fitzpatrick, Warsaw; and a brother: Danny May, Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter: Patricia Ann Sheets; and three sisters: Carol May, Alice Crawford and Rose Wall.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eberhard Cemetery.
