Toqualee “Toky” Joann Armington, 92, Goshen, formerly of New Paris, died 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Cottage Garden. She was born June 1, 1927 in New Paris, to Elmer F. Harsh and Rachel Mary Rock. She was adopted by Charles and Opal Martindale, South Bend, at the age of 9 years old. On July 28, 1956, she married Richard D. Armington and he died May 29, 1991.
Surviving are her sons, Samuel Armington, New Paris, Richard D. Armington Jr., South Bend, loved as a son, Paul Lockwood, Syracuse, daughters, Beth Moneyheffer, Lake Placid, Florida, Mary S. Armington, Goshen, Deborah McGee, Colorado, grandchildren & great-grandchildren and a sister, Shirley Norris, Fishers.
Preceding her in death are her adoptive parents, husband, grandson, Martin Moneyheffer, sisters, Elnora Addington, Jacqueline Kurtz & Sandra Hamilton and brothers, Bert Harsh & George Harsh.
Toky was a 1945 graduate of John Adams High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Community Church.
Private graveside services will be held at New Paris Cemetery. Rev. Jon Rauch will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to Bethel University, Mishawaka.
