Poppy Smith of Pie Eyed Petey’s at Lake Tippecanoe confirmed this morning that the Syracuse location, 101 W. Main St., has been closed.

The restaurant and bar closed Monday according to Smith because, “It just didn’t do what we thought it would and there is a lot of competition there.”

Plans for the building are uncertain at this time. The business opened on July 11, 2011, in the former Anchor Bar building.

Pie Eyed Petey’s remains in business on Lake Tippecanoe at 70 EMS T17 Ln., Leesburg.
