LindaLinda L. Steininger, 72, of Cromwell, Ind., passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, following a brief battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 10, 1940, to Harold M. and Elizabeth (McClintic) Bassett in Warsaw, Ind. On June 23, 2001, she married Ronald Steininger.

Linda was a member of Cromwell United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping. Following her retirement from Nisco in Topeka, Ind., she worked for Charger House in Ligonier, Ind.

She is survived by her husband; three sons: Tharon C. Smith Jr., Albion, Ind.; Timothy (Audrey) Smith, Goshen, Ind.; and Brian Scott (Twila) Smith, Ligonier, Ind.; three step-children: Robert (Cindy) Steininger, Fayetteville, N.C.; Evon Steininger and Elise ‘Chris’ Brown, Kokomo, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one brother: James H. Bassett, North Webster, Ind.

Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Yeager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at the funeral home. Pastor Troy Diersing will officiate. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Ind.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
