Lucy Marie Smith, 86, Pierceton, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at 10:03 a.m., in Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne. Lucy was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Kosciusko County, to Virgil and Orpha Jean (Metzger) Baublit.

She was united in marriage to Billy Edward Smith in Angola, on April 4, 1955.

Lucy has been a resident of Pierceton since 1955. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pierceton.

Survivors include sons, Mark (Patty) Smith, Tim (Paula) Smith, both of Pierceton, Billy (Chrissy) Smith of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brian, Kurtis, Kaitalyn, Matthew, Lori, Katie; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Billy E. Smith in July 2019; a son, Richard Smith, and great-grandson, Jase Allen Jacquay.

A Celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at a later date.
