INDIANAPOLIS — Here’s a story that will warm your heart.
Trelysia Hamerter’s daughter Skylar had her heart set on going to her school’s daddy-daughter dance.
But for the second year, her father stood her up.
“We told her dad about the dance an entire month in advance,” Hamerter said. “He promised that he would go. I sent him pictures of the dress so he could match. The day of the dance comes, he didn’t show. No call, no text message.”
That’s when her big brother Christian stepped in to take his sister to the dance.
“[…] He wanted his sister to know that she deserves a man keeping his word and making her feel special….. y’all I literally cried,” Hamerter wrote on Facebook.
This is what being a big brother is all about!
Hamerter describes the siblings’ relationship as the typical brother-sister relationship where they annoy each other and argue at times but says they are extremely close and very overprotective of each other.
“Christian loves to dance so it was everything for him,” Hamerter said. “Skylar said that it was fun and she was glad to have her brother there because he could dance, so he didn’t embarrass her.”
The Facebook post has been shared more than 50,000 times.
“Just know that I’m raising someone a GREAT HUSBAND one day,” Hamerter said.
