Donald J. “Don” Serviss Sr., 81, Syracuse, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on July 3, 1938, in Queens, N.Y. to George and Frances Lazarus Serviss.

He grew up in New York and attended John Adams High School in Ozone Park, N.Y. He retired from L & F Manufacturing in Bohemia, N.Y. and moved in Aug. 2015 to Syracuse area after being in Pennsylvania for 14 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Paul) Bartels, North Webster; son, Donald (Jeanine) Serviss Jr., Lindenhurst, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Tiffany (Eric) Pinkerton of Syracuse, Dawn (Russell) Coy of Syracuse, Paul (Shannon) Bartles of North Webster, Heather Patino of Copaigue, N.Y., Donald Serviss III of North Babylon, N.Y., and Matthew Serviss of Babylon, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Janice (Bill) Moesch, North Carolina; three brothers: Edward (Catherine) Serviss of Florida, Arthur (Antoinette) Serviss of Florida, and Joseph Serviss of New York; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and their wives, George (Joan) Serviss and Louis (Patricia) Serviss.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Private family services will be held and burial will take place in New York at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse, is in charge of the arrangements.
