Wilma D. Mock

Wilma D. Mock completed her earthly journey Feb. 10, 2020, in Alama, Texas, at the age of 89, with her husband Bob by her side. She was born March 16, 1930, to Russell and Mildred (Chilcote) Nonemaker, in Waynedale.

Having attended and graduated from North Webster High School in 1948, where she met the love of her life, she married Bob Mock, on Feb. 11, 1949. They shared 71 years together.

While raising her family, she applied her bookkeeping skills at the Warsaw School District for many years. Afterwards, Wilma pursued her love of fashion and flowers by working boutique sales. She finished her working career as a Lake City Bank teller.

Wilma’s inters were quite varied — shopping, travel, interior and fashion design, her beloved dogs, music, and gardening. Her memberships included the Easter Star, RV and Travel club, Red Hat club, writing club, computer club and Spanish club.

She had an unwavering faith and strong belief. Being raised in the Methodist church, Wilma maintained active church memberships wherever they lived. She continued her Methodist stewardship until her final days. Christianity was priority she always instilled in her family.

To know Wilma was to know the emphasis she placed on dressing fashionably. She had a sense for style and a knack for finding unique pieces to create memorable ensembles. Her outfits were always admired by all, wherever she was.

Survivors included her husband, Bob; children: Max (Sue) Mock, Lana (Suzanne Mays) Mock, Linda (Jon) Smith; granddaughter, Carmen (Justin) Elliott; grandsons: Evan Mock, Brent (Ashley) Mock, Michael (Michelle) Smith, Matthew Smith; step-grandsons: Greg Smith, Brian (Ranai) Smith; great-granddaughters: Carrie Elliott, Emily Elliott, Edie Mock; great-grandsons: Brody Smith, Julian Mock; and step great-granddaughters: Kiersten Smith and Kylie Smith.

A celebration fo Wilma’s life will be held in Warsaw at the Walnut Creek Church later this summer. Details will follow.

While the world has lost a beautiful lady, inside and out, we have all gained a special guardian angel, watching over us from heaven.
