images-7CULVER – The Warsaw girls tennis team dropped a 3-2 final to host Culver Academies Thursday night.

Jacqueline Sasso and Lindsay Sciarra each won in singles action for the Tigers in the non-conference contest.

Sasso defeated Olivia Cripe 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Sciarra bested Nancy Wil 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Rachel Simon of Culver Academies topped Sarah Boyle 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles action.

The No. 1 doubles team of Pita Navarro and Regina Padilla beat Olivia Wallin and Marley Smith 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

The Eagles also won at No. 2 doubles as Kendall Whitehurst and Marcia Solis stopped Camille Kerlin and Anna Hall 6-4, 6-1.

Culver Academies won 8-7 in JV action.

Winning for Warsaw in JV play were Blair Findlay and Sydney Hartman in singles action. Also victorious for the Tigers were the doubles teams of Mallory Bartel and Mattie Doran, Abbi Baum and Mallorie Stiver, Shelby Roberts and Rosalia Fleming, Ashley Neubaum and Wesley Cowan and Bonnie Wong and Cheyenne Jackson.

Warsaw drops to 1-9 overall on the season.

The Tigers host their own JV Invitational Saturday and then play their final conference match at Goshen on Monday.
