WARSAW – A 23-year-old Akron man has been charged with child molestation.

Austin John Collins, of 83456 South SR 19, Akron, faces a single charge of child molesting, a level 1 felony.

The incident allegedly happened on Dec. 8, 2019, at an undisclosed residence in Kosciusko County.

Collins was interviewed on Jan. 2 by a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s detective and admitted to that he “raped” a youth who was under the age of 14 after dragging the child into a bedroom.

Bond was initially set at $51,000 surety and cash.
