Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Winona Lake fire departments have been called to the Heron Preserve apartment complex off of CR 300 North, Warsaw, for a report of a possible apartment fire.

The fire, in the 5110 block of Heron Boulevard, was quickly extinguished before WLFD made the scene. According to Warsaw-Wayne Fire Chief Mike Brubaker, the fire was cooking related. Though there was minor smoke damage to some of the kitchen cabinets, Brubaker stated that fire safety technology in place at the apartments released a powder that helped minimize the flames.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the fire.
