1064815_profile_picApril Heather Yoder, 22, of Bourbon, Ind., was tragically killed in a car accident on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, near Loudonville, Ohio. She was traveling to visit her boyfriend, Justin Hershberger, of Sugarcreek, Ohio.

April was born in Belize City, Belize, on March 1, 1991, to Steven and Jennifer Yoder. April spent some of her childhood years in Belize as well as in Oregon and Texas with her family.

April attended Zion Mennonite Church, Etna Green, Ind. She loved playing volleyball, traveling and shopping. She was currently employed at Steak and Shake in Warsaw, Ind. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her positive outlook on life.

She is survived by her parents; her devoted boyfriend; four brothers: Gordon Yoder; Stevie (Heather) Yoder, Goshen, Ind.; Micah Yoder; Theodore Yoder; seven sisters: Teresa Yoder, Warsaw; Eden (Randall) Mast, Nappanee, Ind.; Hannah (Matt) Yoder, Harrison, Ariz.; Heidi (Jaymi) Cross, Middlebury, Ind.; Brittney Yoder; Brianna Yoder; Esther Yoder; a nephew: Aiden Yoder; nieces: Adoré Yoder and Sapphire Yoder; her grandfather: Steve L. Yoder; her grandmother: Inez Hulse.

She will also be greatly missed by her adopted family: Marlene Miller, Julio Palos, Evelyn Zehr, Latasha Zimmerman, Anna Smucker; as her extended family and her many friends.

April was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Horace Hulse; her paternal grandmother: Alice Yoder; and her niece: Amani Cross.

Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 13513 State Route 4, Goshen, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the church. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Mennonite Church Cemetery. Arrangments are entrusted to Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
