AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team started conference play Monday night on a high note thanks to Clayton Adamson.
Adamson fired a gem on the hill in pitching the Vikings past Whitko 2-1 in Three Rivers Conference action.
Adamson allowed just four hits while striking out 10 and walking just two in his complete game masterpiece for the hosts.
Valley scored a run in the fourth inning and another in the fifth for the win. Whitko plated its lone run in the fifth frame.
Dan Miller and Luke Helton each had two hits to lead the Vikings. Miller and Drake Hyden each drove in a run for the winners.
Alex Stoddard had a double for Whitko. Ethan Nicodemus took the pitching loss for the Wildcats.
Valley improves to 2-6 overall and 1-0 in the TRC. Whitko falls to 11-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Valley hosts Bethany Christian Tuesday night. Whitko plays at Manchester Wednesday.
