Warsaw’s First Friday Celebrates ‘Musical May’
This Friday is the first Friday of the month and it means another celebration in downtown Warsaw.
Music will be in the air all around the courthouse square as the First Friday event kicks off at 5 p.m. May 3. Singing, dancing and music created by local artists will offer something for every ear.
Mike Beezley will perform on the ukulele at the Buffalo Street Emporium from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Indiana Antiques will host Adrienne Frailey from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Warsaw Community High School Jazz Band will perform from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the courthouse steps and, nearby on South Buffalo Street, Astound Dance shows off their ballroom dancing skills from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Deb Collier’s School of Dance and the Lakeland Community Choir and Lakeland Youth Chorale will be near the Center Street stage beginning at 7 p.m.
Other musical performances during First Friday will include the Sock Monkeys Band in the City Hall Plaza from 7:30 p.. to 9 p.m. Bagpipes and didgeridoo can be heard at the OrthoWorx tent, Paula Popenfoose’s pianists will perform at Himalayan Salt, Mad Anthony’s will host the Gary Gerard Group, musical chairs will take place at Talking Stick Radio and a violin group is set for perform at the Dennie House.
The Musical May First Friday event is made possible by the city of Warsaw, Warsaw Community Development Corporation and the Dr. and Mary Louise Miller Foundation.
