
Frederick David “Ricky” Clayton II, 64, Plainville, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 7:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington. He was born on Feb. 11, 1955, in Elkhart, to Frederick David and Carroll Josephine (Palmer) Clayton.
He grew up in Syracuse, attended Cardinal Learning Center in Warsaw, and in 1995 moved to Plainville. He enjoyed watching all sorts of sports, superheroes, and going to Washington High School sporting events and seeing the players and students.
He is survived by three sisters: Mary Ellen (Ronald) Resur of Solsberry; Melani K. Clayton of Solsberry; and Mellissa D. Hite of Syracuse; brother, Randal E. ‘Randy’ Clayton, Warsaw; half-brother, Thomas (Melinda) Clayton, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation will take place and a graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at the McClintic Cemetery in Syracuse with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of the local arrangements.
