BollingerNancy N. Bollinger, 88, of South Whitley, Ind., died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at The Oaks, Columbia City, Ind., where she had been a resident for the past month.

She was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Abraham and Blanche (Myers) Schamoon. She was later adopted by the late Harold and Jessie Vaughn of Pierceton, Ind. Her formative years were spent in Pierceton. She graduated from Pierceton High School in 1944.

She worked as a telephone operator with General Telephone in North Manchester until her marriage.

On Nov. 17, 1958, she was united in marriage to Charles S. Bollinger. They made their home in Fort Wayne for 14 years then moved to South Whitley. Mr. Bollinger died June 24, 2009.

She is survived by a son: Daniel (Kathy) Bollinger, Bloomingdale, Ill.; a granddaughter: Brittany Bollinger; and a brother: Thomas (Sharon) Vaughn, Phoenix, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Beckner officiating. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery.
