SYRACUSE — Geoff Walmer, the principal of Wawasee High School, was named Assistant Principal of the Year for District Two for the 2018-19 school year while he was still at Warsaw Community High School.

Walmer received the award during the luncheon for the Indiana Association of School Principals Assistant Principals Conference Friday, Nov. 22, in Indianapolis.

Walmer, who has college degrees from both Grace College and IPFW, taught math at Wawasee High School and later became assistant principal at the school.

After serving for a few years as assistant principal at WCHS, he was named principal at Wawasee prior to the beginning of the current school year.

Walmer was one of 10 assistant principals honored Friday.
