Triton Softball Squad Victorious

imagesELKHART – An opportunistic Triton softball team collected a huge conference win Wednesday night.

The Trojans posted a key 4-2 victory at Jimtown in a Northern State Conference contest.

Triton remained undefeated in league play despite managing just one hit in the game. The Trojans, who improve to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the NSC, also struck out 13 times in the contest.

The Trojans scored a pair of runs in the second inning and two more in the fifth frame for the win.  Triton scored a pair of its runs on a wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk.  The winners took advantage of seven walks in the win.

Mallorie Jennings turned in another strong pitching performance for the Trojans. She allowed just three hits, while walking two and striking our four in the win.

Lillie Berger had the lone hit for the Trojans. Brycelyn Garbison and Zoee Stephan each had an RBI for the winners.

Triton hosts NSC foe Bremen Thursday in Bourbon.
