SYRACUSE — Kylie Norris did the work in the circle and her teammates spread the wealth at the plate as Wawasee cruised to an 8-3 softball win over Plymouth Wednesday night.

Norris allowed just four hits in seven innings and struck out six Plymouth batters. Norris’ only rough inning was the sixth, where Plymouth (2-10, 1-5 NLC) scored all three of its runs, highlighted by RBI hits from Randi Dunn and Summer McClellan.

Wawasee countered with big innings in the third and fourth. Leading the offensive charge was Kylee Rostochak, who had two hits and two RBIs. Madi Anderson and Stacie Carr also had two hits while Paige Hlutke drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Warriors.

Wawasee (3-3, 2-1 NLC) touched up starter Brittney Horvath for nine hits and all eight runs. The Plymouth hurler walked four and struck out three in just three-plus innings.

The JV units for both schools did not play Wednesday as the game was called off earlier in the afternoon.

Wawasee will play again tomorrow night in NLC play, a 5 p.m. reschedule at Elkhart Memorial.
