Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Monday, April 22, 2:59 p.m. Lake City Highway and Anchorage Road. Drivers: Russell E. Gortner, 41, Martin Road, West Salem, Ohio; and Gladys Riley, 67, West 300 North, Etna Green. Gortner was stopped at a stop light when he let out his clutch causing him to rear end Riley, who was stopped in front of him. Damages: up to $5,000

Monday, April 22, 3:01 p.m. Tiger Lane. Drivers: Alexis M. Potts, 18, North Arbutus Trail, Warsaw; and Angelic D. Warren, 40, West Wayne Street, Pierceton. Potts was eastbound from the parking lot of Warsaw Community High School when she rear ended Warren’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Monday, April 22, 4:12 p.m. North Detroit Street and Enterprise Drive. Drivers: Brittany L. Hardesty, 18, South SR 19, Mentone; and Timothy J. Zumbaugh, 48, West 400 North, Urbana. Hardesty was eastbound on Enterprise Drive when she attempted making a left turn onto Detroit Street. Upon crossing the southbound lane, Hardesty struck the driver side of Zumbaugh’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000

Tuesday, April 23, 7:25 a.m. West Center Street. Drivers: Howard R. Jones, 71, East Center Street, Warsaw; and Donna J. Risner, 41, North Columbia Street, Warsaw. Jones was westbound in the alley between East Main Street and East Center Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with Risner, who was northbound in the alley. Risner was treated for complaints of pain to her lower leg and knee and her passenger, Kyleigh Risner, was treated for complaints of hip and leg pain. Damages: up to $10,000

Tuesday, April 23, 8:20 p.m. 2211 E. Center St. Driver: John A. Nichols, 42, West Sunset Shore Drive, Silver Lake. Nichols was westbound through the Owen’s Supermarket parking lot when he struck into a light pole. Damages: up to $2,500

Tuesday, April 23, 10:07 p.m. South Buffalo Street and West Winona Avenue. Drivers: Mallery M. Pierce, 26, South 325 East, Warsaw; and Kevin L. Corey, 49, North Brooke Drive, Marion. Pierce was northbound on Buffalo Street when she turned into Corey’s southbound vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:

Monday, April 22, 7:00 a.m. East 400 North and North 850 East, North Webster. Driver: Victoria Likens, 23, EMS B6 Lane, Leesburg. Likens was westbound on CR 400 North east of CR 850 East when she struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500

Monday, April 22, 8:27 p.m. East 350 North and Old Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Robert C. Moore, 33, East Raintree Road, Warsaw. Moore was westbound on CR 350 North when he ran off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree. Moore was ejected from his vehicle, which came to a rest on the north side of the roadway. Moore sustained a fatal head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner. Police are awaiting a pending alcohol and drug test. Damages: up to $100,000

Monday, April 22, 8:42 p.m. South 450 West. Driver: Barry D. Harmon, 57, West 950 South, Silver Lake. Harmon struck a deer while traveling north on CR 450 West. Damages: up to $5,000
