Stoddard Leads Whitko Win

Whitko-Icon-130x130SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko baseball team returned to its winning ways Monday night.

The Wildcats bounced back from a loss to Norwell on Saturday by topping New Haven 10-4.

The hosts broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning. Alex Stoddard provided the key hit in the frame with a three-run double for the Wildcats.  Stoddard went 2-4 with a double and four RBI to lead Whitko.

Ethan Nicodemus collected the pitching win for the hosts. He went the first six innings, allowing just an unearned run while striking our five. Nicodemus also went 2-4 at the plate with an RBI and a double.

Avery Robbins was 2-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for coach Erik Hisner’s squad.

Whitko improves to 8-4 on the season. The Wildcats host Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Tuesday at 5 p.m.
