Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:31 p.m. Thursday, Oct 31, East CR 1000N, west of SR 13, Syracuse. Driver: Scott D. Huffer, 41, Moore Street, Syracuse. Huffer’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, Old 30 and South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Terry Hall, 76, Old Road 30, Pierceton. Hall’s vehicle struck an embankment and a NIPSCO gas line marker. Damage up to $5,000.
11:07 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, West CR 1350N and North CR 700W, Nappanee. Driver: Heaven L. Dove, 17, Himes Street, North Webster. Dove was traveling west on CR 1350N when the vehicle in front of her slowed/stopped. In order to avoid rear-ending that vehicle, Dove swerved and her vehicle went into a ditch. The ditch was deep and partially filled with water. Damage up to $5,000.
8:25 pm. Wednesday, Oct. 30, West CR 800S, east of South CR 100W, Claypool. Driver: Tommy T. Stutzman, 48, West CR 800S, Claypool. Stutzman’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:32 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Timothy P. Marshall, 61, Lake Park Road, Warsaw. Marshall said he was driving north on SR 15 in the area of the US 30 off-ramp and that his vehicle was struck by another vehicle. A witness said a vehicle came off the US 30 off-ramp, disregarded the red traffic signal for the intersection and crossed the intersection, striking Marshall’s vehicle. The witness said the other vehicle pulled over and stopped but then abruptly left the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
