Mary Jane Henn, 88, Syracuse, passed away at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on Feb. 18, 1931, in Greenfield, to Joseph and Ethel (Morris) Cook Sr.

She graduated from Greenfield High School and the Methodist Hospital of Indiana School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was married on Feb. 20, 1960, in Greenfield to Dr. Ray Anthony Henn who preceded her on Oct. 30, 2004. She worked for 40 years with her husband in private practice as a registered nurse until her retirement in 1987. She summered in the Syracuse area for many years and permanently moved to Syracuse from Greenfield in 2003.

She was a member of the Bradley United Methodist Church in Greenfield and formerly attended Wawasee Heights Baptist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne (Brian) Sponseller, Zionsville; son, Marc (Traci) Henn, Syracuse; three stepchildren: Robert Henn, Morgantown, W. Va.; William Henn, Denver, Colo.; Ahlon (Brad) Connor, Charlottesville, Va.; six grandchildren: Christian (Ashley) Henn, Milford; Shae Henn, Syracuse; Faith Sponseller, Zionsville; Lucas Henn, Morgantown, W. Va.; Bethany (Josh) Sowards, Morgantown, W. Va.; Bynon Connor, Charlottesville, Va.; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers: Joseph Edward Sr., Richard Cook, James Pressley Cook, and Robert Gene Cook.

Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier with Pastor Pat Park of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
