Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following accident:
7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, West Old Road 30 near West Hoffer Road, Atwood. Driver: David E. Carpenter, 60, West Clay Street, Bourbon. Carpenter was driving his vehicle east on West Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department responded to the following accident:
3:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, Higbee Street near Syracuse Street, Milford. Drivers: Trenton D. Stackhouse, 25, West Fourth Street, Milford; Paul K. Smith, 60, Yvonna Street, Leesburg; and Christina H. Slone, 66, West CR 900S, Claypool. Stackhouse was driving his vehicle south on Higbee Street faster than he said he should have. As he approached the intersection, he applied the brakes but the front of his vehicle collided with the rear of Smith’s vehicle. This caused the front of Smith’s vehicle to collide with the rear of Slone’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accident:
5:21 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, SR 15 near US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Anthony Chavez, 19, Hackett Road, Goshen; and Megan A. Stillman, 28, Huffman Street, Winona Lake. Chavez said he was driving his vehicle north on SR 15. He said that Stillman stopped suddenly in front of him. He was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision with the front of his vehicle and the rear of Stillman’s. Damages up to $2,500.
