UPDATE: Driver Injures Leg After Vehicle Strikes Tree

PIERCETON — An Albion man was taken to the hospital after injuring his leg in a one-vehicle accident near Ridinger Lake, Pierceton.

At approximately 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on East Adams Road, south of EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton.

The driver, Jacob J. Schlichter, 25, Albion, was traveling north on Adams Road when his vehicle went around a sharp curve. Schlichter lost control of his vehicle, causing his vehicle to leave the west side of the roadway and strike a tree.

According to police reports, Schlichter complained of leg pain and had slurred speech. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.

Pierceton Fire Department, North Webster Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Lutheran Air also assisted at the scene.
