Warsaw Man Faces Charges After Alleged Battery Incident

WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing charges after law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance.

Darren Austin Walcott, 24, 4187 N. Westerner Winds Drive, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class  A misdemeanor. 

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 19, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in Kosciusko County in reference to a domestic disturbance.

The officer spoke with a woman at the residence who said Walcott battered her. She said when she arrived at the residence, Walcott began arguing with her about the time of her arrival.

The woman said Walcott grabbed her and held her down in an attempt to take her phone. The officer observed an injury on the side of the woman’s neck.

Two children were reportedly in the residence during the altercation.

Walcott was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Sept. 26 on a $3,750 surety and cash bond.
