BOURBON – The Triton softball team built a big lead and then held on to defeat John Glenn Wednesday night.
The Trojans took a 6-1 lead in the third inning and went on to claim a 7-6 victory in the home Northern State Conference contest.
Krystal Sellers led the winners with a 2-2 effort at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored.
Mallorie Jennings notched the pitching win with a six-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks. Jennings also had a two-run double in the four-run third inning for Triton.
Brycelyn Garbison had two hits, including an RBI double, for the Trojans. Allyson Brown also had an RBI double for Triton in the win.
Triton plays at Manchester Thursday and hosts NSC foe Bremen on Friday.
