Vickie L. Galbreath, 57, Winamac, passed away at 9:27 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on Oct. 3, 1961, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Donald E. and Delores “Dee” Galbreath.

She was a 1980 Winamac High School graduate. While in high school she displayed her love for music by playing trombone in the band, and because of her musical appreciation, the Galbreath Scholarship for music students was created. In recent years, she had been expanding her abilities by teaching herself to play violin using online videos. She also had a great love for animals, especially cats, dogs and horses.

She always loved to learn and attended several colleges including Butler University; Valparaiso University; Ivy Tech, where she gained a degree in auto mechanics; and Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis, where she earned a degree in computer technology.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winamac.

Survivors include her father: Donald E. Galbreath, Winamac; a brother: Stephen (Deborah) Galbreath, Plymouth; companion: Scott Richardson, Monticello; nephews Doug (Wendy) Galbreath, Topeka; David (Sheila) Galbreath, Beavercreek, OH; Greg (Sara) Galbreath, Sturgis, Mich.; great-nephews: Aidan, Logan, and Evan Galbreath; and a great-niece: Faith Galbreath.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores “Dee” Galbreath and sister, Rhonda Galbreath.

Services will be at noon Monday, Sept. 30, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, McKinley Addition.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in Winamac.
