WARSAW — Officials at Warsaw Community Schools received notification of a potential safety concern at Warsaw Community High School on Friday, Sept. 27.

As per safety protocols, a precautionary lock-in was initiated to allow administrators and police to conduct an investigation. The lock-in status allows classroom activities to continue as planned.

Local authorities were able to quickly confirm that the aforementioned safety concern is a non-credible threat to student safety. Activities and parent pick-up will continue as scheduled.

Warsaw Community Schools would like to encourage anyone who may know information regarding the incident to come forward to local police. WCS can and will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law when threats or false safety reports are made. These situations are both disruptive and unnecessarily alarming and as such will not be tolerated by WCS or local authorities.

Warsaw Community Schools would like to thank staff at WCHS and officers with Warsaw Police Department for their continued vigilance in ensuring student safety.
