Grace Men Show Improvement At SAU

JACKSON, Mich. — Grace’s men’s golf team bettered its score each round at Spring Arbor’s Bill Bockwitz Classic.

The Lancers shot a 319 in the first round, then steadily lowered their score to 313-312 over the final two rounds at The Grande Golf Club. Grace placed 11th out of 15 teams in a massive tournament, filled with 81 golfers.

Freshman Payton Kelly was Grace’s best finisher (79-75-75); he was the only Lancer to shoot in the 70s each round. Kelly’s third-round 75 was the lowest score of the tournament for Grace.

Noah Wright carded a 78-76-85 for a total score of 239. Jacob Abrahamson finished one shot back of Wright (84-79-77), and Blake Lawson was just behind him with a scorecard of 85-79-77.

Camden Gongwer was fifth overall for the Lancers (78-87-83).
