Marjorie E. Heckaman, 81, of Bourbon, Ind., passed away at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in her home.

Marjorie was born the daughter of Victor Zillmer and Frances O. Reichert Zillmer on
July 18, 1932, at Bremen, Ind. She was a resident of the area all her life and she graduated from Bremen High School class of 1949. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Marjorie enjoyed camping, spending time with her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids. She and her husband spent many years delivering new motor homes all over the country and enjoyed all the wonderful sites along the way.

On July 9, 1973, she married LeRoy “Pealy” Heckaman.

She is survived by her husband: LeRoy Heckaman; two daughters: Diane Jansma, Argos, Ind.; and Marsha (Michael) Baker, Tippecanoe, Ind.; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step sons: Terry (Barbara) Heckaman, Lansing, Mich.; Rex (Leanne) Heckaman, Nappanee; Kim (Jane) Heckaman, Plymouth, Ind.; Marty (Denise) Heckaman, Etna Green, Ind.; 10 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great grandchild; a sister: Martha (Wayne) Dinkeldein, Nappanee, Ind.; sister-in-law: Donna Zillmer, Fort Myers, Fla.; and two brothers: Wayne (Marion) Zillmer, Bremen; and Bill (Lois) Zillmer, Mishawaka, Ind.

She was proceeding in death by a son: Ken Steinman; and a brother: Norman Zillmer.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in the Bourbon First United Methodist Church, 204 N. Washington St., Bourbon. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in the church with Reverend Stormy Scherer-Berry of Bourbon First United Methodist Church and Pastor Tom Padberg of Center for Hospice Care officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
