
Rebecca “Becky” N. Skeans, 89, Warsaw, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at 6:47 p.m. She was born on Dec. 06, 1929, in Hippo, Ky. to Harrison Byrd and Pearlie (Frasure) Johnson.
She lived most of her life in the Kosciusko County area. On Dec. 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to Theodore Skeans, he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2012. During her life she was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Warsaw. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Warsaw. She enjoyed gardening (especially in her earlier years), she also loved to quilt and has made quilts for every child and every grandchild in her family. Her life revolved around church and her loving family.
She is survived by her sons: Jim Skeans of Clarksburg, N.J.; Jerry (spouse Janice) Skeans of Nappanee; Jack (spouse Lorie) Skeans of McHenry, Ill.; Terry Skeans of Washington, N.J.; Ted (spouse Opal) Skeans Jr. of Warsaw; Joe (spouse Lauri) Skeans of Warsaw; daughters: Barbara Skeans of Warsaw; Linda (spouse Mike) Miner of Warsaw; Mary Alice Park of Milford; and Janice Miller of Warsaw; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren; Rashel Park and Todd Skeans as well as 14 siblings.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, with visitation from Noon until the time of service in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor David Cripe will officiate the Funeral Service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
