images copyMallorie Jennings made it a record-setting night Monday for the Triton softball team.

Pitcher Jennings broke the school’s all-time career strikeout record in an 11-0 win at Knox.

Jennings fired a two-hit masterpiece as the Trojans rolled in the Northern State Conference contest.

Jennings fanned 13 Knox hitters in the league win, giving her 360 strikeouts for her prep pitching career. That surpasses the previous program standard of 350 set by Bethany Kern.

Halie Zimmerman had two hits and two RBI for the Trojans. Krystal Sellers had an RBI double for the winners.

 

Tennis Team Notches Win

A three-set win at No. 2 doubles lifted Triton past Rochester 3-2 in girls tennis action Monday.

The Trojan duo of Marissa Ross and Savannah Baker rallied for a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 win at the top doubles spot to give the Trojans the win.

Kaelyn Mason won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Carrie Slabaugh posted a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles for Triton.

Rochester’s Brooke Ewing topped Michal Scherer-Berry 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. The Zebra team of Aubrey Franklin and Kaitlyn Bugno defeated Cassie Irons and Shayla May 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Triton improves to 1-1 on the season.
