
WARSAW AT MARION INVITATIONAL
Warsaw’s boys cross country team placed ninth, and the Lady Tigers finished 10th in a strong field at the Marion Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University Saturday.
Jacob Kissling led the boys team with a 27th-place time of 16:31, and Sam Lechlitner was next in line for the Tigers with a 16:36 stop in 32nd place. Fernando Niebbia finished 60th in 17:09, Harrison Phipps was 69th in 17:21, and Tanner Stiver finished 72nd in 17:22.
Wini Barnett again paced the Lady Tigers with a 19:22 time, good enough for an overall 25th place finish in a field of 206 athletes. Ava Knight, Amanda Lucinde, Adree Beckham and Erika Bugg finished off the scoring in the varsity race.
The JV girls race had many Tigers running personal records, and the team was led by freshman Alex Price in eighth place overall. Lilly Boston, Whitney Shepherd, Regan Brouwer and Vianey Lucio finished off scoring for the JV race.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY AT MANCHESTER INVITATIONAL
The Vikings weren’t at their best at the Manchester Invite Saturday.
Leading the boys was Matthew Howes in 34th place with a time of 18:06. Mitchell Smith placed 72nd in 19:25, Chase Miller was 109th in 20:16, Jace Holloway finished 114th in 20:25, and Evan Myers was 141st in 22:38.
Valerie Jimenez paced Valley’s girls team in 83rd place with a 24:35 time, Maria Handerson was 94th in 25:36, followed by Ella Myers in 95th with a 25:43 time, while Talia Holder finished in 15:59 for 96th place, and Marissa McLean was 109th in 28:32.
