
Debbra (Debbie) Ann Sunday, 65, of Wabash, passed away at 11:32 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at Wabash Parkview Hospital.
She was born Aug. 14, 1954, in Florida, to Shirley Ann (Heeter) Swinger and Chester Earl Swinger. Both proceeded her in death.
Debbie graduated from Goodrich High School, Goodrich, Michigan, in 1974. She married Barry Brown in 1981, in Wabash, but later divorced. She was a lover of nature and animals, studying horticulture and floriculture. She worked as a florist and designer at several floral shops throughout her life. She was an avid gardener and loved to volunteer, when she could, with animal rescue groups. She was passionate about her family, friends and animals, as well as the United States military in which her youngest son served. She was kind, compassionate and always willing to help a friend in need.
Debbie is survived by her three children, Amy (Bradley) McCarty of Clarksville, Tenn., Ryan Brown of LaFontaine, and Aaron Brown of Fort Hood, Texas; three grandchildren, Elijah, Mayah and Micah McCarty, all of Clarksville, Tenn.; six sisters, Marcia (Ron) Hensley, Julie Castle and Fern (Jeff) Dillon, Sherry Swinger, all of Wabash; Mollie (Gary) Hiner, Huntington; and Maye (Maurice) Ralston, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Ralph (Maribel) Amber of Edgewood, N.M.; many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her faithful companion, Tommaso.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved friend, Raymond Sunday, paternal and maternal grandparents, a nephew, and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with George McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 1-2 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
