Catron, Remington Pace LCA Track

lca smallCHURUBUSCO – Emilee Catron and Hannah Remington led the way as the Lakeland Christian Academy track teams opened their seasons Thursday night.

Catron and Remington each won events as LCA scored 21 points in the girls’ meet. Host Churubusco won the competition with 77 points and Garrett scored 57.

Catron won the 800 in a time of 2:42 and Remington took first in the 1,600 in 6:10 to pace LCA.

Hailey Nieveen placed second in both the 100 hurdles (17.9) and 300 hurdles (53.0) races for LCA. Ashley Ormsby was third in the discus (69-7) and fourth in the shot put (25-4) for the Cougars and Carissa Urschaltz placed third in the 400 (1:11).

The foursome of Catron, Remington, Urschaltz and Nieveen took third place in the 1,600 relay with a time of 5:04.

Alex Plastow placed fourth in the 1,600 in a time of 5:38 in the boys’ meet for LCA.

Churubusco won the boys’ meet with 115 points, while Garrett had 42 and LCA one.
