WARSAW — A Warsaw woman who allegedly gave false identifying information to police after being pulled over for speeding received an additional charge after kneeing an officer in the groin when she was taken to jail.

Misty Dawn Warren-Siegel, 41, 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, is being charged with battery of a law enforcement officer, a level 6 felony; driving while suspended, a class A misdemeanor; and false informing, a class B misdemeanor.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 13, a Warsaw Police officer observed a black Chrysler on Winona Avenue traveling faster than the posted speed limit. The officer found that the registered owner of the vehicle, Warren-Siegel, had a suspended Indiana driver’s license.

The officer conducted a traffic stop, and the driver provided a name and date of birth; however, the name and date of birth provided by Warren-Siegel were not her own.

When the officer was unable to find the name provided by Warren-Siegel in the Indiana BMV database, he obtained an Indiana BMV photograph of Warren-Siegel and verified that the driver of the vehicle was Warren-Siegel.

Warren-Siegel was arrested for driving while suspended and false informing and was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.

Another officer was in the port at the entrance of the booking area of the jail, and Warren-Siegel kneed that officer in the groin.

Warren-Siegel was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Aug. 13, on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
