UPDATED — Motorcyclist In Serious Condition After Crash

Edward J. Frost, 51, Warsaw, is in serious condition at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, after his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle Sunday, Aug. 4. Frost was ejected from the motorcycle.

PIERCETON — Edward J. Frost, 51, Warsaw, is in serious condition following a motorcycle-car accident at 7:08 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, on Pierceton Road, west of South CR 600E. Frost was transported to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, for his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved, Glen D. Chupp, 20, Nappanee, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital after complaining of pain throughout his body.

Chupp was later arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.

Several calls were received by the Kosciusko County 911 Communications Center shortly after 7 p.m. regarding a passenger car and motorcycle collision on Pierceton Road and CR 900E. Emergency units were dispatched  and located two injured people.

The preliminary cause determination indicates Chupp was driving a 1997 Pontiac Firebird eastbound on Pierceton Road. Chupp passed another eastbound vehicle that was in front of him. In the process of passing the other vehicle, Chupp’s vehicle struck Frost’s 2008 Harley-Davidson.

Frost was ejected from the motorcycles as a result of the collision.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Kosciusko County Fatal Team, Winona Lake Police Department, Lutheran EMS, Pierceton Fire Department responded.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.

Glenn Chupp, 20, Nappanee, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for complaint of pain throughout his body after his 1997 Pontiac Firebird struck a motorcycle. Chupp stopped his vehicle some distance from the crash site.
