Police, firefighters and other first responders work the scene at 2124 E. Winona Avenue where a woman was injured when she was pinned to a building by a vehicle.

 

WARSAW — Police say a woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital Thursday afternoon, July 11, when she was pinned against a building and suffered a severe leg injury. A second person, a man that police say was in shock, was also declared a patient but it was unclear at the scene as to whether he was taken to a hospital.

Central Dispatch called out for a personal injury accident just past 5 p.m. at 2124 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, the location of Mosthigh tattoo parlor. According to first responders, a woman was pinned against the building and suffered a severe leg injury. First responders reported applying a tourniquet and initially, helicopter support was called out but later cancelled.

At the scene, concrete blocks in the front of the business were caved in at least six inches as police interviewed witnesses at the scene.

First responders from multiple units responded to the scene, including the Warsaw Police Department, Lutheran EMS, Winona Lake Police Department and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory firefighters.
