Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:17 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, on Wade Street, west of East Pierceton Road near Winona Lake. Driver backing out of driveway, struck a car. Driver: Kari Wildman, 35, Amber Meadows, Goshen. Her vehicle struck a parked vehicle registered to Daniel Delvin, East CR 175E, Warsaw. Damage: Up to $2,500.
1:37 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, on SR 13 north of North CR 650E, near Syracuse. Driver was headed north on SR 13 when the right front tire blew out. Vehicle ended up in a wooded area at 11332 North SR 13. Driver: Barry Lamb, 45, West CR 550N, Warsaw. Truck registered to Knepp Trucking, New Paris. Damage: Up to $25,000.
12:57 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, on North CR 300E north of East CR 750N, near Leesburg. Driver struck a deer. Driver: Glen Knisley, 89, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Damage: Up to $5,000.
9:53 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, On West CR 900N and SR 15, near Milford. Drivers: Willard Troyer, 24, West CR 1050N, Nappanee; Linda Miller, 63, of EMS D3 Lane, Syracuse. Troyer was stopped at a stop sign and headed west on 900N and struck a vehicle behind him after trying to give more room to another vehicle that was turning. Damage: Up to $5,000.
8:29 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, on Old Road 30 west of North CR 350W, near Warsaw. Drivers: Sandra Moore, 59, Summer Place Drive West, Granger; David Crum, 52, Pin Oak Court, Plymouth. Moore’s vehicle struck the rear end of Crum’s vehicle after Crum slowed to a near stop for traffic in front. Damage: Up to $10,000.
6:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, on East CR 700N, near Leesburg. Driver: Margaret Komdeur, 48, East CR 700N, Leesburg. Driver struck a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
5:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, on North CR 200E, north of East CR 750N, near Leesburg. Driver: Arturo Rodriguez, 22, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Driver left the road for an unknown reason and then returned to the road, but ended up on its top in a planted farm field. Driver also said the brakes failed. Damage: Up to $10,000. Driver was cited for no valid operator’s license.
5:10 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the US 30 interchange at SR 15 (North Detroit). Collision occurred after a driver entered traffic after merging along westbound traffic on US 30 from SR 15. Drivers: Madison Hancock, 17, North Happiness Driver, Syracuse; Maxim Chiriac, 29, Carroll Square, Elk Grove, Ill. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
6:58 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, on North Huntington Street and East Main Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Stephen Vargo, 54, EMS West 23N, North Webster; Mason Sidwell, 17, Larimer Drive, Millersburg. A trailer being towed by Vargo struck another vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:39 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 1508 Ranch Road, Warsaw. Driver: Mikel M. Phebus, 70, Ranch Road, Warsaw. Phebus was fighting with a female outside of his vehicle when Phebus began to drive away. The female hung onto the side of the vehicle. As the vehicle approached the street, the female let go of the vehicle and Phebus left the scene. The female suffered scrapes to her arms, legs and face and was taken from the scene by ambulance. Damage under $750.
7:01 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, Argonne Road, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Thad S. Harges, 18, Barrington Place, Warsaw; and Matthew R. Stamm, 29, North Sawgrass Lane, Leesburg. Harges’ vehicle rear-ended Stamm’s. Damage up to $1,000.
1:29 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, on Lake Street, west of North West Street., Warsaw. Driver: Brandy Owens, 28, Meadow Lane, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
