Over 4,000 Without Power In Warsaw, Winona Lake

WARSAW — Over 3,000 NIPSCO customers are without power in Warsaw and another 1600 in Winona Lake. According to NIPSCO’s power outage website, the estimated restoration time will be 5:45 p.m.

Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory was notified around 4 p.m. of a potential transformer fire at Detroit and Fort Wayne streets. Four minutes later the fire department was called to the radiology center at Kosciusko Community Hospital for a fire alarm.

Firefighters reported the hospital was operating on a generator. Approximately another four minutes later police called firefighters to the area of North Roosevelt Street off Clark Street for power lines down.

NIPSCO is at the scene working to restore power.
