897_0000168665Kathy J. Roberts57, of rural South Whitley, Ind., passed away at 10:21 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., where she was admitted June 11.

She was born Oct. 11, 1955, in Columbia City, Ind., to Richard J. and Marilyn J. (Blain) Bolinger. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1974. On Sept. 22, 2009, she married Wayne A. Roberts. They made their home in rural South Whitley.

She was employed by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance for 17 years, starting in the Whitley County branch and more recently working at the North Manchester, Ind., branch. Prior, she worked at the South Whitley Elementary School as a teacher’s assistant. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters: Mindy (Bret) Foltz, Yorktown, Ind.; Marci Baker, Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; a sister: Deborah (Tim) Collier, Pierceton, Ind.; and her mother.

She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers, James, Robert and Ronald Bolinger.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12 at the United Methodist Church of South Whitley. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, at the church. Pastor Robert Barton will officiate.
