SYRACUSE — A Syracuse female is facing charges after allegedly battering a male.

Brittany Nicole Griffith, 32, 109 E. Baltimore St. 2, Syracuse, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 28, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department was driving on Henry Street in Kosciusko County when he observed a male subject waving his arms in an attempt to catch the officer’s attention.

The officer identified the male and observed that the male’s cheek, ear and throat were red on the left side of his face. The male told the officer that Griffith and he were at a residence in Kosciusko County when they got into an argument. According to the affidavit, the male said Griffith struck him, causing injury to his face. He also said a minor was present during the battery.

A witness who was reportedly at the residence told the officer she observed Griffith strike the male while they were inside the residence. Officers were unable to locate Griffith at that time.

Griffith was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail June 14 on a $2,500 surety and cash bond.
