KOSCIUSKO — If you’re just waking up, you may be unpleasantly surprised to find out you have no power.

As of approximately 4 a.m., calls begin coming through to NIPSCO regarding widespread power outages.

The NIPSCO site shows multiple outages in Kosciusko County, including the areas of Warsaw, Silver Lake, Claypool and Mentone, with a total of 2,135 NIPSCO customers affected in those areas. Utility crews are currently working to address the problem.

US 30 is reported to be completely closed in the area of CR 350W due to downed power lines. Multiple traffic lights are out in downtown Warsaw. Please use caution.
