Kathleen J. “Kathy” Siwy, 67, New Paris, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on July 24, 1951, in East Chicago to Gus and Lela Belle (McCormick) Getz.

She grew up in Hammond and graduated from Hammond High School. She was a self-employed poultry producer and veteran assistant for many years. She lived in Arkansas for several years, moved to Syracuse in 1995, and then to New Paris two years ago.

She is survived by sons: Jacob (Coraya) Siwy of New Paris, Adam (Chad) Siwy of Indianapolis, and Inta (Kenna) Khamsourivong of Goshen; grandchildren; sisters: Pam Sullivan of Tennessee and Peggy Getz of Indianapolis; a brother: Michael Getz of Texas

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rosie Kritikos.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. No public services are planned. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
